10 Percent of Electricity Transactions Done In Bourse

TEHRAN May 23 (Shana)--10 percent of electricity transactions will be transferred to Energy Exchange (ENEX) this year, managing director of ENEX Ali Hosaini said.

Speaking to Shana, he said under the terms of an agreement with Energy Ministry, the ministry has agreed to transfer 10 percent of electricity transactions to ENEX before the end of the current Iranian calendar year to March 2016.

Hosaini said Energy Exchange is trying to persuade large industrial units to register in bourse for buying electricity and at the same time seeking to increase the volume of electricity transactions by a number of retailers operating at bourse.

Noting that electricity is the first energy carrier being traded in ENEX regularly, he expressed hope that a growing volume of electricity trade will be transferred to Energy Exchange.

According to Hosaini, electricity accounts for 17 percent of the total value of trades at ENEX.
