Ali-Reza Kameli said NIGEC has held talks with Turkish companies for the construction of power plants.
The Iranian official made a state visit to Turkey and discussed using the potentialities of Iran-Turkey gas pipeline.
“The empty capacity of this pipeline is 1.2 bcm a year. By installing compressors on their own soil, the Turks could raise this empty capacity to 2 bcm a year,” he said.
Kameli said Turkish companies could use this capacity for generation of electricity.
