No Problem with Running Damavand Petchem: NPC Chief

TEHRAN June 17(Shana)--The National Petrochemical Company (NPC) will attempt to continue running Damavand petrochemical complex under its own management if its transfer to private sector fails.

Speaking to Shana, Abbas Shari-Moqqadam, the managing director of NPC, made the remarks, adding even if private companies decide to buy Damavand petrochemical complex they should transfer the final products to NPC for offering in the market “because customers don’t like to face various sides for purchasing petrochemical products”.

Elsewhere in his remarks NPC’s chief said NPC talks with companies from Germany and Switzerland have resulted in just signing a number of MoUs yet to become operational.

Earlier, managing director of Damavand petrochemical plant had said that the first phase of the plant would come on line this year. He also said if transfer of Damavand petrochemical plant fails for the third time then it will remain under the control of NPC.
