Iran Eyes Enhanced Power Generation Capacity

TEHRAN June 29(Shana)--An official with Tavanir Power Distribution Company said more than 2,000 megawatts of power will be added to the country's generation capacity by the end of the current Iranian calendar year to March 2016.

Gholamreza Khoshkholq said once fully activated, the country's power generation capacity will hit 75,000 megawatts. 

He said Seymareh dam is expected to become operational by the end of the current year, along with Mahshahr and Behbahan dams which are equipped with combined cycle power plants. 

The official stressed there will be no worries as to the country's power supply during summer.
