Post-Sanctions Iran Bracing for Economic Growth

TEHRAN July 22 (Shana)--First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri has said economic prosperity is the administration's number-one target in the current Iranian calendar year to March 20 now that hopes are the highest for the lifting of western sanctions on Tehran following its historic nuclear deal with world powers.

Speaking at a conference in the north eastern Ardebil Province, Jahangiri hailed the nuclear deal Iran clinched with the P5+1 last week, and called on all domestic organizations to help the administration realize its plans in line with the country's economic growth.

"The deal shall not be viewed as being an end in itself. Rather it is the first step in a new path for the government to work out solutions to the country's issues by the empathy and support of the nation and the society's elites," the official said.

He said the administration had plans to continue to run the country in case of the continuation or ever worsening of the western sanctions.

Last Tuesday, Iran and the P5+1-Britain, US, France, Russia, China and Germany- struck a nuclear deal capping 20 months of intensive talks.  Based on the agreement, Iran will dramatically limit its nuclear activities in exchange for the lifting of western sanctions.
