Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting with British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, Zangeneh told reporters that an OPEC meeting would “be effective” to stop the oil price slump.
“All OPEC members must consent to an emergency meeting and the members’ endorsement of the meeting would mean that all of them are determined to reach an outcome from the assembly,” he said.
“I believe some countries (OPEC members) with political intents are least likely to easily endorse the meeting.”
