S. African Official Visits RIPI in Iran

TEHRAN Sept. 01(Shana)-- South Africa's Energy Department Deputy Director-General Tseliso Maqubela has visited the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry, the research arm of Iranian petroleum ministry.

During the Sunday visit, the South African official held talks with the RIPI officials on expanding grounds for cooperation on gas to liquids (GTL) technologies with Iran. 

Maqubela praised the technological developments in Iran's oil industry, saying Iran has made major advancements in the field. 

He also expressed optimism that South Africa's technological relations with the RIPI will boost in the future. 

"All the technical achievements brought together at the institute are superior and attractive and we are interested in cooperating with the institute in developing GLT units," he added. 

He said South Africa eyes expansion of ties with Iran, and will send a delegation of experts to RIPI for pursuing the ties.
