Berlin Energy Summit Mulls Investment in Iran

TEHRAN Oct. 3 (Shana) - A day-long Iranian energy investment summit was held in Berlin, attended by a high-level Iranian oil and gas delegation headed by Deputy Petroleum Minister Rokneddin Javadi.

The conference held on Thursday dwelt on cooperation and investment opportunities in Iran’s lucrative energy market, an IRNA report said.

The executive-level summit addressed developments in Iran’s energy market and the challenges it faces within rapidly changing global market structures.

The summit also provided a unique networking opportunity, as high-powered representatives from Iran’s national oil and gas companies were scheduled to discuss recent and prospective legislative amendments and structural changes within the marketplace.

The conference featured a two-hour plenary session to discuss investment and development opportunities along with existing projects in Iran’s upstream and downstream markets.

It was followed by three working groups on oil and natural gas, petrochemicals, and energy efficiency.

The working groups discussed specific industry developments, regulatory issues, and market innovations in detail, touching on all aspects of the Iranian energy landscape.

Germany has been the scene of numerous executive-level business conferences in recent months, including the high-profile Berlin visit by Iranian Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh in early May.
