NIOC Bracing for Post-Sanctions Output Raise

TEHRAN Nov. 1 (Shana) – "National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has conducted pilot plans to enhance recovery from Iran's oil fields, and is ready to practically boost the country's oil output in the post-sanctions setting," NIOC chief said.

In an interview with E&P Monthly, Roknoddin Javadi elaborated on NIOC's mission in the post-sanctions era which includes enhancing recovery from Iran's oilfields, developing oil and gas fields, finalizing South Pars phases, and application of the latest EOR technologies in the country.

He said the company has applied EOR plans on many of Iran's oil rich regions since a year ago and is prepared to boost the country's daily crude oil output after the sanctions' removal.

"Iran's oil output which was nearly 4m bpd before the sanctions, can be restored after the sanctions," he said.

The country is also baking on boosting its condensate output once sanctions disappear. Iran's current gas condensate output stands at 0.5m bpd.

He said plans are under way for production of 1m bpd of oil from West Karoun region within the next 5 or 6 years.

Raising gas output from phases 15-21 of the massive South Pars field is also envisaged by NIOC in its future plans, he added.
