TEHRAN, Nov. 24 (Shana) - Minister of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands Henk Kamp said that global energy markets has entered a new era which could be named the golden age of natural gas.

Delivering his speech at the Third GECF Summit here on Monday, he added that many countries are concerned about global warming and that is why using natural gas has drawn so much attention as a clean fuel.

“Islamic Republic of Iran can play a crucial role in meeting gas needs of the world”, he said, adding the countries that have gathered in Tehran to take part in the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) meeting, sit atop 70 percent of the world gas reserves.

Climate change and its consequences are among the issues that have underlined the importance of turning to natural gas as a clean fuel, the Netherlands minister of economic affairs said.

Referring to valuable experiences of Dutch companies in the gas industry, Henk Kamp said the country was ready to transfer its achievements to other countries.

The Netherlands, he concluded, plans to expand its cooperation with others, especially with Iran, in the gas industry.
