Envoys of 20 Countries Visit PSEEZ

TEHRAN Nov. 25 (Shana) – Ambassadors of 20 European, Asian, Latin American and African countries visited Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ).

The visit was aimed at assessing investment opportunities in the region, said PSEEZ managing director.

Mehdia Yousefi said the region is regarded as Iran's energy hub and has a bright future ahead of it given its boosted energy production and export capacities.

"All the required infrastructure for facilitating investments have been provided in the region and the interested investors will not have to worry about feedstock supply for their plants," he said.

Ever since Iran's July nuclear deal with world powers, the country's energy diplomacy has gained much pace and the massive South Pars gas field can be regarded as an influential lever in this regard, added the official.

South Pars is part of a wider gas field that is shared with Qatar. The larger field covers an area of 9,700 square kilometers, 3,700 square kilometers of which are in Iran's territorial waters (South Pars) in the Persian Gulf. The remaining 6,000 square kilometers, referred to as the North Dome, are in Qatar's territorial waters.

The Iranian gas field contains 14 trillion cubic meters of natural gas, about 8 percent of the world's reserves, and more than 18 billion barrels of condensate resources.
