Siemens Pledges Delivery of Iran’s Unblocked Oil Equipment

TEHRAN, Jan. 3 (Shana) – Executive vice president for corporate technology in the German firm Siemens said following implementation of the nuclear Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and removal of sanctions, the legal barriers on delivery of Iran’s oil industry equipment have been lifted.

“Siemens can now deliver the unblocked equipment to Iran,” Siegfried Russwurm told Shana after the meeting here on Wednesday of German delegation with the deputy petroleum minister for international affairs and commerce.

He welcomed the determination of the Iranian government to boost development of its infrastructure saying that the German firms are preparing to cooperate in this endeavor.

“We are active in railways, fast commuting, energy mechanism, and energy distribution in the oil and gas industry which provide opportunities for cooperation in a variety of issues,” Russwurm said.

The German delegation, which visited the petroleum ministry is headed by Dieter Haller, director of economic affairs and sustainable development in the German foreign ministry, is part of the entourage of the German foreign minister during his visit to Tehran.
