South Pars Supplies half of Iran Gas Needs

TEHRAN, Feb. 06 (Shana) -- Managing Director of South Pars Gas Complex (SPGC) said Iran has supplied 50% of its needs for natural gas from the gas it recovered from South Pars gas field since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year on March 21 .

Masoud Hassani said SPGC processed nearly 81 bcm of gas during the ten months since March 21 2015 and has injected it into the national gas distribution network. 

He said the company has withdrawn over 103 bcm of gas from South Pars during the period. 

The 5th refinery of SPGC has set a record in sweetening 15.7 bcm of natural gas, he added. 

SPGC also provided 127.3 million barrels of gas condensate and more than 319,000 tons of sulfur during the same period. Besides, it produced 132,000 tons of ethane and had it delivered to Jam, Kavian and Morvarid petrochemical plants for processing.
