Regaining Lost oil Market Share Strategic for Iran: Diplomat

TEHRAN, Feb. 09 (Shana) -- A senior Iranian diplomat involved in Iran's nuclear negotiations with world powers said some countries have usurped Iran's oil market share and are trying to instill selling only a million barrels per day as Iran's share into the market.

"This is while Iran views recapturing its oil market share as a strategic priority," said Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Director General for the Political and International Affairs Hamid Baeidinejad during a lecture at Isfahan University.

He said the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is a the result of 2 and a half years of nonstop work by the negotiating team and must be considered as a turning point in the history of Iran in the past to growth and development.

Last July, Iran and the P5+1 group of countries, namely the US, China, Russia, the UK, France and Germany, struck a historic agreement which would lift international sanctions on Iran's economy in exchange for curbs on Tehran's nuclear program.
