Persian Gulf Star Refinery 86% Complete

TEHRAN, Feb. 13 (Shana) – Persian Gulf Star Refinery reached 86% completion by November 21 2015. The project is expected to process gas condensate into products when it comes on-stream in 2017.

Completion of the project is highly prioritized by Iranian Ministry of Petroleum. Having started in 2006, the project had made only 69.5% progress before 2013, but after Iranian President Hassan Rouhani took office in the year, work sped up for finishing the project and it is nearly operational.

The refinery's first phase will come online by mid-2016 and its second and third phases are planned to become operational each after 4 months.

Besides, the Rouhani administration has started off construction of a major condensate refinery project in Assaluyeh.

Known as Siraf, the project entails eight 60,000-barrel refineries in Siraf region with the total value of $3bn dollars.
