Speaking to Shana after meeting the visiting Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze, he added, “Iran will supply the feedstock and will also cooperate with the Georgian companies in the investment.”
He said Georgia has the advantage to export Iranian goods to Europe and said it will be communicated to the Iranian private sector for investment ventures.
“Studies have to be carried out in this area which we hope can be completed and lead to investment,” the minister said.
It was decided that Tehran and Tbilisi will introduce their qualified companies to cooperate, said Zangeneh.
Recently, Iranian and Georgian officials have met on the sidelines of international forums or talked over the phone.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met his Georgian counterpart, Mikheil Janelidze, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference on February 12. Also Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani spoke on the phone with Georgia’s PM Giorgi Kvirikashvili on February 8.
On Monday, Georgia restored 45-day visa-waiver arrangements for Iranian citizens, which were scrapped by Tbilisi in 2013.
