Hellenic Petroleum Buys 60 kb/d Crude Oil from Iran

TEHRAN, Feb. 20 (Shana) – Greek’s Hellenic Petroleum will purchase 60 thousand barrels a day of crude oil from Iran which can increase to 150 thousand barrels, said the deputy petroleum minister for international affairs and commerce.

Amir-Hossein Zamani-Nia told Shana that the deal was made during the recent visit of Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to Tehran as it was agreed that Iran will export 60 to 150 thousand barrels of oil to Greece.

He said that Greek is ready to resume oil transaction with Iran as soon as banking problems are solved.

Zamani-Nia added that payment of the Hellenic Petroleum’s debts to Iran has been negotiated and is underway.
