Slovakia Interested to Buy Oil from Iran: Deputy Minister

TEHRAN, March 8 (Shana) – Deputy Petroleum Minister for International Affairs and Commerce Amir-Hossein Zamani-Nia said Slovakia is interested to buy crude oil from Iran.

Talking to Shana following a meeting with the visiting Slovak Miniter of Economy Vazil Hudak here on Monday, he said that Bratislava also wants to invest in Tehran’s refining and LNG projects.

He said that following the removal of sanctions, ground for cooperation with a large number of countries has become prepared as Iran’s refining industry needs 1.7 billion of investment, and that Slovakia can take part in the sector’s projects.

“Iran’s oil industry needs 185 billion dollars in investment during the Sixth Development Plan (2016-2011) in which Slovak companies can take part too,” he added.

He referred to the upcoming IPC conference in May to be focusing on joint fields and IOR/EOR projects and invited Slovakia to participate in the event.

Zamani-Nia also said that Slovakia is interested in Iran’s LNG and gas storage projects adding that in four to five years Iran will be in a position to think about exporting gas to Europe.
