Iran Set to Export 2mb/d in Upcoming Months: Veep

TEHRAN, March 12 (Shana) – First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri said that Iran is ready to increase its crude oil export up to 2 million barrels a day in the coming months coinciding the new year (starting March 20).

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Seymareh Dam in the western Ilam Province, he said that following removal of sanctions Iran has managed to increase oil exports for 400,000 barrels a day.

He also said that major oil and gas projects will be launched in the province.

“We shall be vigilant in using oil revenues so that the public sector does not enlarge every day,” he said last September prior to the removal of sanctions.

Iran was OPEC’s second-biggest producer before US-led sanctions banned its customers from purchasing, transporting, financing and insuring of its crude in mid 2012.
