Iran Cedes Gas Field Studies to Korea's KOGAS

TEHRAN, May 02 (Shana) -- Managing Director of National Iranian Oil Company signed a deal with the South Korean Gas Corporation (KOGAS) to carry out studies for developing Belal Gas Field in Iran.

From NIOC Roknoddin Javadi and from KOGAS, Seung Hoo Lee signed the MoU at Javadi's office in Tehran on Sunday. 
Based on the deal, the Korean side has agreed to carry out studies on the gas field which is located in the Persian Gulf, Javadi told Shana after signing the deal.
KOGAS is active in upstream projects and has been developed gas fields in more than 15 countries over the course of the past recent years. 
"The Koreans will start studies over Belal gas field and will present their proposals for development of the field with the NIOC," said Javadi.
This was the third MoU Seung Hoo signed on Sunday with Iranian energy companies. The first two ones were with National Iranian Gas Company for construction of gas pipelines in Iran and National Iranian Gas Exports Company for construction of liquified natural gas (LNG) plants in Iran and cooperation in the gas market.
