Ground Ready for Enhance of Iran’s Petchem Industry: MP

TEHRAN, May 21 (Shana) -- Ground is ready for development of Iran’s petrochemical industry, senior lawmaker said.

Amir Abbas Soltani, first secretary of the Iranian Parliament's Energy Commission said on Saturday that Iran’s petrochemical industry has lots of technical and economic advantages and it has the capacity of further growth.

He urged diversifying and increasing oil products for export abroad as pre-condition to implementation of outlines of Resistance Economy.

The lawmaker expressed hope that by boosting the petrochemical industry, the country’s economic reliance on the crude oil revenues decreases.

Back in 2014, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a proclamation outlined a series of general policies to boost Iran’s economy and lower its vulnerabilities.

The proclamation, laying out a grand plan for Resistance Economy in Iran, was issued after consultations with the country’s Expediency Council and based upon the Clause 1 of Article 110 of the Iranian Constitution.
