Lithuania Offers Investment in Iran LNG Sector

TEHRAN, May 29 (Shana) – Lithuania has offered investment and providing technological assistance to Iranian Liquefied Natural Gas projects, Deputy Petroleum Minister for International Affairs Amir Hossein Zamani Nia said.

He told Shana after his meeting with Lithuania Deputy Energy Minister Aleksandras Spruogis on Sunday. 

Lithuania is interested in cooperation and investment in Iran’s Liquefied Natural Gas sector, Zamani Nia added.

The official noted that Lithuania has good experience in field of LNG and Iran will survey this country’s offers.

Cooperation in fields of shale oil and shale gas were other Lithuania suggestions for cooperation with Iran, he added.

Zamani Nia also said that Lithuania private sector plans to talk with Iran on buying crude oil and oil products.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius heading a business delegation left his country for Iran on Friday to discuss expansion of economic, trade, and cultural relations with Iranian officials during his three day official visit.

The Lithuanian top diplomat is being accompanied by Deputy Energy Minister Aleksandras Spruogis and a business delegation led by Rimantas Sidlauskas, head of the Association of Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts.
