Speaking in a meeting with visiting Indonesian Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said in Tehran on Monday, Zangeneh said, "The relations between the two countries facilitate institution of a major change in enhancing mutual ties in oil, gas and petrochemical industries."
"Iran has opened all the doors for cooperation with Indonesian state and private companies and they can join energy projects in areas such as natural gas, petroleum products, and petrochemicals as well as joint investments in refining and development of oilfields," he added.
The top Iranian energy official further said that Iran is ready to establish strategic relations with Indonesia for long-term supply of refinery feedstock (including gas condensate and crude oil).
"Iran and Indonesia have always enjoyed friendly ties and have never undergone any tensions in their relations… Iran considers Indonesia as a major [political] weight in eastern Asia," he added.
"We expect Pertamina, the Indonesian state-owned oil and natural gas corporation, to come to Iran as soon as possible to join development projects [in the country]… Short-term ties begin with trading of stuff and we have no limits and problems for boosting ties with Indonesia," he added.
