West Karoun Crude Output UP

TEHRAN, June 21 (Shana) -- Iran has raise oil recovery from West Karoon oilfields by adopting proper policies and setting the required arrangements, a report said.

The planning department of the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum released a report on the ministry's achievements and measures in the previous calendar year which ended on March 19 regarding development of joint oil fields in the West Karoon region.

The report confirms that the country could raise recovery of crude oil from the fields that it shares with neighboring countries. 

The report also said that revision of contracts with developers of the fields, expelling a Chinese developer from South Azadegan Oilfield, devising contracts with new developers and raising the number of oil rigs from 3 to 18 in the regions are among the measures that the ministry took in the region to raise crude output. 

Furthermore launching the second phase of early production project at Yadavaran with a daily production of 50,000b/d of crude oil in 2014 was another achievement by the ministry, the report said.
