Zanganeh: Common Fields' Tender to Be Priority

TEHRAN, June 28 (Shana) – Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zanganeh says Summer will be the time for the first phase of tender to introduce 10 or 15 fields with common fields having the priority.

In an interview with ISNA, Zanganeh outlined points of amendment in the new oil contracts, privatization priorities in the contracts, speedy return of Iran to the oil market after lifting of sanctions, reasons of insisting increase in Iran's oil production, decreasing role of OPEC in the market and single rate of gasoline and establishment of exploration companies and production in the country.
He said the most important challenge ahead is operation of several common fields, including South Azadegan field, oil layer and phase 11 of South Pars as well as Farzad fields.
He underlined the need for attraction of foreign investment and said increase in recovery of oil from the fields being operational and commissioning of projects for more extraction of oil are of high significance.
