NIDC Drills 61 Wells Offshore, Onshore

Tehran, July 24 (Shana) – Deputy Managing Director of National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) Hamid-Reza Khoshayand said on Saturday that in four months (March 20-July 21), his company drilled 61 oil and gas wells.

Khoshayand said the NIDC used 75 rigs to drill more than 109,000 meters of wells both onshore and offshore in the period under study.

He said 22 of the wells were developmental and one explorational and 38 wells were drilled for repair.

He added that 33 of the wells were in the zones operated by National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), 17 ones by Iran's Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC), three by The Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC), four by The Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) and four others as other category of drilling.

He said this year, the NIDC has on its agenda the overhauling of more than five rigs both onshore and offshore.
