Incentives to Be Given to Investors in Environmental Projects in Mahshahr Petzone

TEHRAN, July 27 (Shana) – Managing Director of Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Omid Shahidinia said on Tuesday that incentives will be given to the companies investing in such projects as environment protection, wastewater management and recycling.

Shahidinia made the remark in ceremonies marking inauguration of operations for commissioning environment protection projects in the petrochemical industries.

He noted that Mahshahr PETZONE was established in 1997 to provide safe environment, appropriate infrastructure, developmental, servicing, commercial, petrochemical upstream, downstream and midstream activities,  tax exemptions and incentives on an area of 2,600 hectares.

He added that regarding its location in the vicinity of Mahshahr, Bandar Imam and Khourmoussa coastlines, Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Economic Zone is one of the highly sensitive ecosystems in Khouzestan Province.

The official said environment protection and supervision over environmental pollution account for half the duties of his office.

He said six wastewater treatment centers run with daily capacity of treating 40,000 cubic meters/day of industrial wastewater.

Add to this figure 4,800 cubic meters/day once a mega such project will be commissioned and operational by Maroon Petrochemical Company, he boasted.
