Grounds Broken for Biggest Industrial Wastewater Treatment Center

TEHRAN, July 27 (Shana) – Construction of the biggest industrial wastewater treatment center began in Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Economic Zone by the Head of the Department of Environment Masoomeh Ebtekar on Tuesday.

Indigenized technology is to be used for commissioning the project.

A total of 40,000 cubic meters/day industrial and medical wastewater will be hence treated, recycling about 80 percent of the zone's wastewater outage.

Ebtekar was on a tour of Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Economic Zone in Khouzestan Province and during her stay a contract was signed for sale of flare gas to the private sector. 

She was accompanied in her visit by such petrochemical industry figures as Shahdaie and Managing Director of Persian Gulf Holding Company Adel Nejadsalim.

During Ebtekar's stay, executive operations were launched for implementation of Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company wastewater treatment center and the chloralkali unit of the Company will be out of production cycle as mercury will be filtered out and replaced by hollow fiber membrane.

Among other programs of her visit was signing a deal for establishment of Petrochemical Natural Museum Garden.
