Jahanbakhshi said the storage tank no. 504, containing laic fuel, at the petrochemical facility has been on fire since 15:00 hours local time.
Based on the incoming reports, different relief aid groups and firefighters from Kermanshah Province and the neighboring provinces have been dispatched to the area to put off fire.
Now, more than 30 groups of firefighters are busy at work to contain the fire and prevent its spread to eight neighboring storage tanks, trying to check incoming explosions.
Meanwhile, early investigation into the case shows the cause of fire in Bistoon Petrochemical Company had been discrepancy in the energy system inside the storage tank.
