Total Iran Gas Output under Rouhani: 0.6tcm—Report Says

TEHRAN, Aug 24 (Shana) – Iran has produced over 600 billion cubic meters of natural gas under the Rouhani Administration since 2013, a report says.

A report released on the occasion of the Government Week by Shana, says the Islamic Republic of Iran has successfully recovered 600 bcm of natural gas from underground reserves under Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, up28% from the previous administration. 

The report says that the administration has been seriously focused on economic ties with neighboring states through natural gas trade; and to this end, the country has initiated relations with 4 of its neighbors for gas trade. 

Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkmenistan are the countries Iran is in gas trade with. Furthermore, Iraqi citizens are about to enjoy Iranian natural gas for power generation in the near future. 

The administration is also focused on increased gas trade with European countries as well through LNG cargoes, says the report. 

Furthermore, over 1,832 kilometers of gas pipelines for gas transfer have been laid down under the administration in the past three years. 

Underground Storage

One of the chief achievements of the administration is storage of 4.6 bcm of natural gas in underground storage facilities in the past three years as well.
