Doubling Crude Oil Exports Impossible without JCPOA: Spokesman

TEHRAN, Aug 28 (Shana) – The Government Spokesman Bagher Nobakht says Iran could have never doubled its crude oil exports had the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) not been implemented.

Speaking on Saturday night at a meeting with a select number of economic activists in the northeastern province of North Khorasan, Nobakht responded to certain criticisms who say the JCPOA has been fruitless.

"Doubling oil exports and bringing it to over 2 million barrels per day, which is one of the JCPOA achievements would have never been realized without the deal," he said.

He said the superpowers had planned to curb Iran's oil sales by the sanctions and bring it to oil-for-food level and in that case inflation rate could never have been controlled and the country would be gripped by a serious crisis.
