"The Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in their capacities as two important international organizations should fulfill their main duties properly and play a more influential role in the current developments under the present sensitive and historical juncture," President Rouhani said during the meeting while reiterating on the need for unity and solidarity among Muslim nations and countries.
President Rouhani pointed the status quo of Iran-Indonesia relations, and said, 'The two countries have very close political and regional standpoints and it is necessary for both countries to boost the level of their cooperation and coordination more than before.'
Jusuf Kalla, for his part, said Iran and Indonesia, as two important Muslim countries, have always made efforts to promote peace across the Muslim world but must take more steps in this regard.
The NAM meeting brought together heads of state and delegates from all the 120 member countries to discuss key regional and international issues. Iran handed over the rotating presidency of the bloc to Venezuela during the summit.
