Tabriz Refinery Launches Iran's First Flare Gases Recovery Unit

TEHRAN, Sept 23 (Shana) – Tabriz Refinery has launched its flare gas recovery unit for the first time in Iran.

Managing Director of Tabriz Oil Refining Company Mohammad-Baqer Dakhili said the project aimed at environment protection, costing more than four million euros.

He said the project helps minimize environment pollutant levels and the recovered gas will be returned to the fuel network of the refinery, making it possible to use the carbon dioxide gas trade per development mechanism of the clean air in accordance with the UN Tokyo protocol. 

He noted that inauguration of the unit will help recover 2,045 kg/hour sent gases. 

He went on to announce the operation of Tabriz oil refining company in February 1978, was to run with the nominal capacity of 80,000 bpd and Tabriz refinery production capacity reached 110,000 bpd in 1992.
