Addressing a group of officials in charge of gas projects, Sheikhbahaie said out of the total amount of gas consumed in the country, 68 billion cubic meters go to the households, 55 billion cubic meters to industries and 58 billion cubic meters to power plants.
He said presently, there are more than 21 million natural gas subscribers.
More than 14,000 major industrial units, 67,000 small and medium-sized industries and about 85 big power plants countrywide consume gas a year.
