Iran-Austria Ties to Expand

TEHRAN, Oct 25 (Shana) – Head of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture Gholam-Hossein Shafei says Iran-Austria economic relations are growing.

"In the past one year, Iran and Austria exchanged many delegations; we should try to use the opportunities available under present conditions to consolidate relations and grow volume of exchanges," said Shafei.

He made the remark in a meeting with Second President of the Austrian National Council Karlheinz Kopf in Tehran on Monday.

Shafeie underlined removal of the banking and commercial impediments by governments to upgrade ties and cooperation between their private sectors.

"In Europe, Austria has shown logical stances on various issues like imposed war and recent sanctions on Iran. Also, we will never forget Austria's efforts to hold nuclear talks and bring it to a result."

Shafei said Austria is among countries in Europe that is superior to other countries in terms of technology, arts and culture and it is hoped that bilateral relations will continue to expand.

Shafie called for Iran-Austria cooperation in trade, environment protection, organic agriculture and cooperation between their knowledge-based companies.

Kopf for his part urged expansion of bilateral cooperation and relations, including in such economic fields as supply of drinking water, sewage disposal, development of infrastructures, technology and environment protection.
