Russian Delegation Due in Iran This Week

TEHRAN, Nov. 13 (Shana) – Deputy Minister of Petroleum for International Affairs and Trading Amir-Hossein Zamaninia says a delegation representing Russian companies will visit Iran this week to receive the first hand account of oil contracts.

Talking to Shana upon his return to Tehran, Zamaninia said concurrently, a workshop will be held to brief the Russian companies on details of the new model of oil contracts in Iran.

He said the delegation will consist directors of Russian Gazprom, Tatneft, Lukoil, Zarubezhneft.

He noted that thus far, several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) have been signed with Russian companies. "During the visit, more talks will be held with National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) on the MoUs and turning them into HoA."

The NIOC had on July 12 and October 8 this year signed two MoUs to entrust studie on two sustainable West and Aban fields as well as Dehloran oilfield to Zarubezhneft and Tatneft respectively. 

The Deputy Minister of Petroleum said Gazprom is ready for development of a field in Persian Gulf and contribute to the Iranian LNG project.

He said a delegation of senior directors from Gazprom will visit Tehran in the first week of December for talks with the NIOC.

He added that the Iran-Russia Joint Economic Cooperation Commission will convene in Tehran on December 13. "Based on the schedule, the Russian oil companies will visit Tehran two days ahead of the day the Joint Commission will be held to hold talks with Iranian oil companies. They are to finalize outlines of the cooperation documents for inking in the joint committee."

Zamaninia had visited Moscow to take part in the 4th International Oil Annual Session with extraction, production and technologies being the axis for discussion. On the sidelines of the meeting, he met with head of the Duma energy committee, directors of Gazprom, Tatneft and Zarubezhneft.
