Zangeneh: Iran, Russia to Sign 2 MoUs for Oil Field Study

TEHRAN, Dec. 13 (Shana) – Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh says a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is the be signed with Russian Gazpromneft Company for development of two oil fields.

Zangeneh told Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak on Tuesday morning that signing the MoU, Russia will launch study on seven fields, gaining largest share in study of Iranian oil fields.

He said recently a strategic ground was added to areas of cooperation between the two countries and that's constructive cooperation in oil market regulation.

Praising Russia's "constructive" role in restoration of stability to the oil market, Zangeneh said in that domain, contracts between leaders of the two countries are decisive and highly influential.

He thanked Russia for its role in leading talks between the OPEC and non-OPEC states.

Noting that various Russian companies had held talks in a good level with National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) on development of oil fields and oil recovery.

He added that for the time being, Lukoil signed an MoU with the NIOC for study of Ab Teymour and Mansouri oil fields, Zarubezhneft for study of Aban and Paydar Gharb fields and Tatneft for study of Dehloran field.

Just shortly, the NIOC and Gazprom are to sign several cooperation MoUs for study on two oil fields of Changuleh and Cheshme Khosh.
