Iran Mulls Selling 100k b/d of Oil to Russia

TEHRAN, Dec. 13 (Shana) – Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said Iran will continue talks with Russian customers for selling them up to 100,000 barrels of crude oil.

Speaking to reporters following a meeting with Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak on Tuesday, the official said: "We are prepared to sign a deal with them for selling oil even today." 

He said selling crude oil to Russia was discussed during his meeting with Mr. Novak, expressing optimism that a final deal will be signed in this regard between Iran and Russia within the next one or two days. 

Once a deal is signed, Russia will reimburse half of the oil price to Iran by offering technical and engineering services and pay the remaining half in cash, added the official. 

He also said that cooperation with Russian and Chinese companies is one the strategic policies of Iran's oil industry in the post-sanctions setting. 

"Iran is seeking to diversity developers of its oilfields."
