Yadavaran Total Oil Output Hits 70 mb

TEHRAN, Dec. 19 (Shana) – Recovery of crude oil from Yadavaran Oilfield, located southwest of Iran, has crossed 70 million barrels since the field's development project officially came on-stream in March.

Located 70 kilometers southwest of the oil-rich city of Ahvaz, Yadavaran is currently producing 115,000 b/d of oil, said Hadi Nazarpour, operator of the project.

The field is made up of two former fields, Koushk (discovered in 2000) and Hosseinieh (discovered in 2002). After researchers discovered that the two fields were actually connected, the field was renamed as the Yadavaran Field.

The field is estimated to have reserves of up to 34 billion barrels of oil, with 6 to 14% rate of recovery.

The development project of Yadavaran oil field is being carried out in three phases.

Production of the field was expected to reach 85,000b/d in its first phase but is now at 115,000 b/d.

The field's output is expected to reach 180,000b/d in its second phase development.

In a third phase the field is expected to reach 300,000 bbl/d (48,000 m3/d) of production capacity.

Ministry of Petroleum has put focus on oil production from Yadavaran, North Azadegan, South Azadegan, North Yaran and South Yaran oil fields. Iran shares all these fields with Iraq.
