SADRA Building 10 South Pars Platforms

TEHRAN, Feb. 12 (Shana) – SADRA (Iran Marine Industrial Company) is building 10 offshore platforms to develop the remaining phases of the supergiant South Pars Gas Field in Persian Gulf waters.

The company is expected to launch the platform of phase 22 of the gas field which is shared by Iran and Qatar, by June, said Gholamreza Manouchehri, the deputy for development and engineering at the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), during a visit to SADRA, an Iranian builder of offshore platforms. 

He said every two to three months another platform constructed by SADRA will be ready for installation.

The official said development of the remaining phases of the field will continues next year just like the current year.

The platforms, belonging to phases 22, 23, 24, 13, and 14 of the field, are being built in the company's yard each with 500 million cubic feet/day of gas recovery capacity.
