Iran Petchem Units Operating at 86% of Nameplate Capacity

TEHRAN, May 29 (Shana) -- An official with the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) says Iran's petrochemical plants will be operating at 86% of their nameplate capacity during the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21.

 

Ali Mohammad Bossaqzadeh, director of production control at NPC, said a number of new projects are expected to come online during this year which will scale up the country's production capacity as well.

He said production of petrochemical will reach 58.9 million metric tons this year with 3% rise in productivity of plants this year. 

He said there were plants in Iran that operated above their nameplate capacity last year. 

Kavian, Morvarid, Shiraz, Noori, Pars, Zagros and Amir Kabor petrochemical plants saw the biggest production boost during last year, he said.

The official further added that Farjr and Mobin utility plants are the most prolific plants in the country.
