Iran, Ireland Can Team up in Energy Sector: Speaker

TEHRAN, Oct. 03 (Shana) -- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said Tehran and Dublin can cooperate in energy sector.

 

Addressing a press conference following a meeting with visiting Chairman of the Senate of the Republic of Ireland Denis O’Donovan in Tehran on Tuesday, Mr. Larijani said attraction of foreign investments to finance projects on renewables and clear energies as a top priority for the Islamic Republic of Iran.

"Iran and Ireland can cooperate in renewables, oil and gas sectors," he said. 

He described Iran-Ireland relations as sustainable, adding the visit strengthens bases of these relations.

The parliament speaker said attraction of investments in renewable and clean energy projects as well as supplying medical and energy equipment were highlighted in the meeting.

He also expressed optimism that the mutual relations between the two countries bolster in the future.

In June 2015, Larijani paid an official visit to the Republic of Ireland with a high-ranking delegation to explore avenues for the promotion of parliamentary ties.
