Iran 80% Self-Sufficient in Building CNG Stations

TEHRAN, Oct. 23 (Shana) – An Iranian energy official says the country has reached 80% self-sufficiency in manufacturing the items and equipment needed for building CNG stations.

Mansour Riyahi, managing director of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), said the company has recently taken positive steps for developing CNG stations across the country.

"Fortunately, we have reached 80% self-sufficiency in supply of equipment needed for building CNG stations," he said.

The official said the company has distributed over 54 billion cubic meters of CNG since 2005 which has reduced gasoline imports and the ensuing costs to a considerable degree in the country.
