Mohammad Damadi said many positive steps have been taken in this regard in Iran but more efforts are still needed in this regard.

He said Iran's oil industry enjoys vast potentialities for growth especially in drilling and oil production sectors.

The MP said many leading international companies are keen on joining oil and gas projects in Iran, adding, "we must hurry in signing deals with these companies if we are to develop oil industry as soon as possible."

He further said that boosting production from joint oil fields must be a priority for the country given the fact that Iran's neighbors are maximizing efforts to operate their share of the fields.
