Hamidreza Khoshayand, deputy director of operations at NIDC, said the wells were spudded in onshore and offshore fields.

The wells include 40 development and appraisal wells, 2 exploration wells and 58 workovers, he said.

The NIDC official also said that the wells entailed up to 187,453 meters of drilling.

During the period, 74 drilling rigs of NIDC operated across the country, Khoshayand added.
