Tehran, Baku Discuss Enhanced Energy Cooperation

TEHRAN, Dec. 02 (Shana) -- Iran and Azerbaijan discussed avenues for enhancing oil and energy cooperation, an Iranian oil official said.

Amir Hossein Zamaninia, deputy petroleum minister for international affairs and trading, said Iran recently sent a delegation to Baku to hold talks with Azeri energy officials on boosting oil and energy ties.

Cooperation in the Caspian Sea was one of the highlights of the meeting held between the two sides, Mr. Zamaninia said.

The two neighboring countries have increased their ties in recent years and have taken promising steps in bolstering Tehran-Baku relations.
