Iranian Lawmakers authorize Petroleum Ministry to Issue Islamic Bonds

TEHRAN, Feb. 05 (Shana) -- The Iranian parliament authorized the ministries of petroleum and industry, mine and trade to issue Islamic bonds up to IRR 35 billion.

The bonds will be issued for financing oil and gas projects with joint fields by the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum and infrastructure and development projects by the Ministry of industry, Mine and Trade. 

The MPs in the parliament's Sunday session during deliberations over details of the budget bill for the calendar year 1397 (beginning on March 21) approved of the sub-article 5 of the bill with 156 votes in favor, 22 against and 5 abstentions from the total of 231 MPs present at the session.
