Iran Petroleum Ministry Backs Technology Generation: CEO

TEHRAN, Feb. 14 (Shana) – The Iranian Ministry of Petroleum backs all projects aimed at generation of technologies in line with the principles of the economy of resilience, a senior petrochemical official said.

Addressing a ceremony held to sign a document for commercialization of SAC500 catalysts in Tehran on Wednesday, Reza Norouzzadeh, the managing director of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), voiced the ministry’s support for generation of technologies aimed at fulfillment of economic resilience principles in Iran, NIPNA reported.

The catalyst is used for production of different grades of heavy-density polyethylene at Shazand Petrochemical Plant which signed the document with the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company (PRTC).

As long as PRTC’s research activities are not operational, such deals will become a collection of mere archival documents, said Norouzzadeh.

“Therefore, the technologies breakthroughs of the company should move towards completion of the production process,” he noted.

Shazand Petrochemical Company has taken the commercial risks for this industrial production of the catalyst, and “we hope that this trend will spread among all the petrochemical plants,” said the official.
