1st Train of South Pars 22-24 Phase Refinery Online

TEHRAN, Feb. 21 (Shana) -- The first gas sweetening train of South Pars phase 22 to 24 refinery has come on-stream, operator of the onshore facility said.

Farhad Izadjou said the land and refinery section of the phases has so far progressed 92%, adding construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning of all sections of the first train of the refinery, including the gas receiving unit, the flare stack, utility units (instrumentation air system, steam production, nitrogen production), pond and scavenger units, process units (gas desalination and sweetening units), as well as the gas pressure booster unit have become operational.

He said everything is ready for the plant to receive sour gas from phases 6 to 8 of the supergiant offshore gasfield.

Once fully operational, the facility will process 12.5 million cubic meters per day of natural gas and ready it for injection into the national gas trunklines.

The development plan of phases 22 to 24 of South Pars is under way by Petrosina Arya and Sadra with the goal of producing 56.6 million cubic meters/day of sour gas, 75 thousand barrels/day of gas condensate, 400 tons/day of sulfur, 2,870 tons/day of LPG and 2,740 tons/day of ethane.
