Stronger role of Petchem Industry in Economy Envisaged

TEHRAN (Shana) -- Plans and objectives have been devised to bolster the share of petrochemical industry in Iran’s economy in the new Iranian calendar year, an official says.

Farnaz Alavi, director of planning and development at the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), said the objectives and plans devised by NPC will be materialized in cooperation with petrochemical holdings, companies and complexes in the current calendar year which began on March 21, NIPNA reported.

Outlining the company’s major plans for the current calendar year, the official said following up on sustainable and balanced development of the industry in order to materialize the 2015 outlook of the petrochemical industry with the aim of completing the value chain is top in NPC’s agenda for the year.

Bolstering investment in the sector and paving the path for increasing the variety of petrochemical productions are also minded by NPC in the year, she added. 
Alavi further added that promoting contribution of the petrochemical industry to the national economy and its effective presence in global markets, development of technologies and the activities of knowledge-based companies in order to localize modern technologies and market development, and producing diverse products and presence in domestic markets (downstream industries) and the new world have also been noticed by the National Petrochemical Company for the new year.
